Wampanoag Pop Knot

Using the secret Wampanoag Pop Knot, two separate pieces of rope can be tied together, then the knot can be popped off, leaving you with one solid piece of rope.

This magical knot is said to have come originally from the Wampanoag Tribe of southeastern Massachusetts and was passed on to me by a traveling scoundrel of questionable repute named Whitney Wesley Hadden*, which was almost certainly an assumed name.

In the interest of making clear the workings of the Wampanoag Pop Knot, I shall lay bare the instructions for tying this knot, with illustrations.

You take one rope and twist it around the other rope. You go back and forth the same way as you went in and out. In and out at the same time as you went back and forth. You twist, come around and pull tight. (See fig. 1 and fig. 2.)

You then get some magic Pixie Dust.** Sprinkle the Pixie Dust on the rope. In a few seconds the knot will dissolve and pop right off the rope!

Congratulations! You now know this ancient secret.
